How AI uses your data

Goby is provided by Get.ng Technologies Limited. AI explanations and estimates are optional. Barcode scanning, label facts and supported label-based scores work without AI permission.

When you allow AI

When you ask a question or request an estimate, Goby sends the relevant product details, your selected dietary profile, your question and recent conversation context to OpenAI through Goby’s service hosted on Cloudflare. Profile notes and questions may contain personal information you choose to include. Only send information you want used to answer your request.

Your full saved shelf, photographs, name and email address are not included in these AI requests. Label photographs are read on your device; extracted label text may be included when you request AI help about that product.

Access and storage

Apple App Attest verifies this installation. Goby checks subscription access with RevenueCat and stores an installation identifier, verification key and free-use count on Cloudflare to protect paid access and enforce the four free AI tries. This release does not require a Goby sign-in account. Apple manages subscription payments; Goby does not receive your payment-card details.

Questions, profiles and conversation history are not written to Goby’s gateway logs. Up to four recent AI responses are cached for ten minutes to let interrupted requests recover without another model call. Verification and free-use records remain to protect access. Your saved shelf, profile and conversations are stored on your device.

Goby sends OpenAI requests with storage disabled. OpenAI may retain API content for abuse monitoring under its own retention policy. This setting does not mean that every provider record is immediately deleted.

Your controls

You can decline the AI prompt or turn off “AI data sharing” in Goby Settings. Turning it off stops future AI requests and does not cancel an Apple subscription or remove data already processed. Clear conversations from their menu. For privacy or deletion requests, contact mack@gobyai.app.
